Marian Burros Original Plum Torte Recipe

i cannot understand why this is so good. i made a similar very simple cake recipe with figs yesterday, after having made this for a dinner party two days prior, and thought, why do i ever make any simple fruit cake recipe but this one? it is SOOOOO GOOD. sorry torte* whatever
